The sun was just setting, and I was once again out on the deck, watching it slide beyond the horizon. It was something I had always liked doing, even before I was out of my mother's strangle-hold she had on me. She'd always get so mad when I'd be out near-dark, and finally clean up for dinner after the sun was gone. But now, it was different. I was free now, and with the occasional pirate trying to "win" me for the night, I liked my life better now.

I found my sister out on deck and walked over to her. I had just rescued her from the life I'd given up a long time ago. She thought she would be able to last there with our dreadful mother but she found out the hard way that its not that easy. I smiled at her as I stood beside her. "Beautiful this time of day, huh?" I asked as I gestured to the setting sun on the horizon.

I turned to my sister and smiled. "Yes, it is. And even more so that I'm away from our 'dear mother'." I said, rolling my eyes as I mentioned our mother. I turned around, putting my back on the railing. "It's so...free out here. A lot better than with her."

"I know. She loved us, I'm sure but...It's just too stressful with her. She doesn't understand how much we hate a life like that." I said, giving her a sympathetic smile. "We should visit her. Maybe a decade from now." I added with a smirk. An evil little smile spread across my face. "Maybe her husband will be dead by then." I added in a hopeful tone. I looked out across the water and sighed, thinking of how much it must be breaking her heart that we don't want to stay with her. I couldn't help but wish she would understand one day and miss our family being together.

I laughed and nodded, even though ten years seemed too soon for me. I didn't want to go back to her unless it was for her funeral, but I could see the fact she was probably upset we'd be out on the seas and not with her. "Maybe in ten years I'd have found someone nice to marry. Maybe that would redeem myself in her eyes. The only way I'd go back to that life now, though, is if someone tied me up and forced me to go."

I sighed and rolled my eyes. She was forever trying to find a man. But I usually scared off the ones I didn't see fit for her. She didn't know that though. I laughed when she said her last comment. "Well, I hope that doesn't happen any time soon. I'll see you later. I'm gonna get the captain drunk so he passes out and I don't have to sleep with him to pay for our ride. If you hear me yell 'cupcakes' come running in with a pistol or two." I said with a wink.

I laughed and patted my side. I always had a pistol on me, since I never knew where we'd end up, or around whom. "Leave me, then!" I said in a joking tone and hugged her. "Have fun," I added with a wink.

I held up two bottles of strong liquor. "Don't worry I will. Not all of this is for him." I joked and walked into the captain's quarter's where I knew he would be waiting for me.
---------MORNING-----------
I woke up in the captain's bed and looked up, seeing him passed out in his chair. I was happy to see I still had all my clothes on and I didn't remember him pushing the sex. I supposed I kept him distracted enough. I got up and wandered out, looking for Lillian.

I must have fallen asleep on the deck, because that's where I woke up. I sat up, rubbing my eyes to get the lingering sleep out of them, and looked around. Except for a few men here and there, I was alone. I stood up and checked for my pistol--still in its place--and realized Anna must not have needed me. When I looked over to where the captain's cabin was, I saw Anna walking towards me. "Hey. Have fun last night?" I asked, smirking as I walked over to her.

"Not really. I guess I got him to drink enough so he wasn't so handsy." I joked and I walked with her to the railing. "We should be porting in Tortuga soon." I added, sounding a little excited. It was one of the first places we thought to look on our search for our family. I was happy to think that it may only be a few days before we saw our father again. I missed him so much. "How was your first night away from the madness?" I asked her curiously. I had been out cold for most of last night so I didn't really enjoy it.

I shrugged and looked around me at the crew hurrying around, doing whatever they needed to do. I had a huge grin on my face when I turned back to Anna. "It was great! Didn't have mum bossing me around all day. Although, I do miss my bed. The deck is not nearly as comfortable as my bed," I said.

I laughed at her. "I understand that." I told her. I'd been dealing with that for a while too. It wasn't the most comfortable thing, living with out a bed but it was better than the alternative. I shrugged and pulled my hair back into a tight bun. I heard a door slam closed and the captain came sauntering out. We both turned to look at him as he searched the deck for something. He spotted me and pointed. "Oi!" He exclaimed and I jumped. "Oh great..."

I jumped and turned around upon hearing the door slam. The captain was walking towards Anna and shouting, and my hand went to my pistol as I smiled at her. "I'll be waiting down there if you need me," I said, and quickly walked to the other end of the ship, but staying close enough if Anna needed me.

I raised an eyebrow at him as he walked over. "Yes?" I asked and he glared. "You cheated." He accused. "Excuse me?" I was confused. He talked as if we were playing a game. Only...I didn't know the rules. "Last night. You got me drunk." He began. "I believe we had a deal." "Ah, I see." I chuckled. "Well Captain, I'm sure I'll find some way to make it up to you. Surely money will be of some use to you. Maybe next time we meet, I'll be married to a Prince." I said sarcastically, being very smart ass like.

I stood, watching the conversation between Anna and the captain, hoping I wouldn't have to run over and save her; it was early, and I was still tired. The deck is not a very good place to sleep...maybe next time I'd be on a ship with a guy who'd be nice enough to let me share a bed or something with him without having him take me against my will.
