It had been another ordinary day for me. I spent it like any other: getting up, showering, breakfast, reporting to the office for work, and going home. But then I got a report that I always feared I'd get.
My best friend, Rebecca Chambers, went down in the middle of Arklay Forest, along with the rest of Bravo team. I had to go in and rescue them. It was more than a search-and-rescue mission, though--my best friend's life was at stake, with the cannibal killers on the loose.

I yawned, sitting on the helicopter. I shot a look at Rebecca, and smiled. It was good seeing her. lightning cracked, and I felt the helicopter sway. I grabbed a safety line, gasping as I felt us spin.... and then, crash. Everything... went black. When I awake, Enrico was shaking me. He was talking... but what was he saying..? I sat up, grabbing my rifle, and looked at it.
The barrel was cracked, right at the base. I snapped it off fully. "Great... A sawed off sniper..." I jumped out, shaking my head as I looked around. Nothing... I saw what I was looking for. The engine was destroyed, and smoking. "Not good..." I put my rifle on my back, sighing as I pulled out my handgun. After a quick check, I figured I had 30 or so rounds. I heard a loud crash... and I saw sparks in the distance. A train..?

I tried to calm down as I sat in the helicopter, Jill to my left and Wesker in front of me, briefing once again about what we were to do. I wasn't paying attention to his words, I was staring at him. I knew I shouldn't like him--he's my boss--but I do.
I didn't need to know anything that I didn't already. The only thing I was concerned about was finding Rebecca, and maybe the hideout of the killers while we were at it. Whatever Wesker had to say had no use to me now.
"Hey, you okay?" Jill asked, gently touching my shoulder. I nodded, adding in a smile to drive the point home. She returned it and hopped out of the helicopter after me. I took a deep breath as I turned my flashlight on, ready to begin the hunt.

I sighed. "Where... do I go now.." I heard a loud thunk, and headed for it, blinking. "What.... is that.... noise?" I heard a growl... and turned in time to see a dog... parts of skin missing.. heading for me... time seemed to slow as I raised my gun, and it teeth clamped on the muzzle.... and fired.
A neat hole punched through it, pink mass flying outwards, into the bushes... I examined my gun... nothing. I looked at the dog and frowned. "What... is that thing?"

Wesker sent us in different directions to start the search. I was nervous about splitting up, but decided to go along with his orders. I learned early in my life not to question what your boss tells you, and plus, I knew that splitting up would be better in any hope to find anyone.
While I was walking around, I heard gunshots to my right. Instinctly, I abandoned my position and went towards the sound of the shots. On my way, a dog ran out in front of me and stopped, staring at me. My first thought was to run past it, but as I looked closer at it, something didn't look right. I noticed its skin was peeling, and blood was dripping from its jaw. We both stood there eyeing the other, until the thing started running towards me. I screamed and closed my eyes tightly, pulling the trigger and bracing myself for a bit. When it didn't come, I opened my eyes. The dog was on the ground three feet in front of me, dead. I ran quicker, only to be stopped by the sight of Jill and Wesker running past me.
"This way, rookie," it was Barry's voice and hand that grabbed my wrist, taking me alongside him.

I examined the body... its skin was flayed, blood, muscle, and sinew showing.... I heard a shot. Alpha team? Already? Hmm. I rushed for the gunshot, only to see the helicopter flying off. "What... the fuck!?!" I looked around. More dogs... I raised my gun, running for the gunshots I heard before, firing backwards...
