The streets were crowded and I was getting annoyed. We were running late and I was starting to think we were lost. The people kept running into us and it was beginning to really bother me. "Mother's going to kill us if we're late for our lessons again." I said to my sister, Ava. She was right behind me, carrying with her the instrument she played. I had a viola case in my hand. We walked through the streets until we came across a path that led to the forest. "Isn't there a shortcut through here?" I asked, pointing through the trees.

I nodded. "I think so. It'll be better than trying to get through this mess!" I said, looking back to the streets. "Let's go."
We walked quickly through the forest for what seemed like forever. Finally, we came up to something I never remember seeing in London. "Are these...ruins?" I asked, looking around.

I looked around, confused. They looked...like something you'd find in Greece or Rome. Not in London. And I definetly don't remember them ever being here. "What are they doing here? They weren't here before. Did we go the wrong way?" I asked rhetorically. I couldn't understand what had happened.

"I don't know. Maybe we did." I said, and smiled. I had an idea. "Maybe we could...check them out? We're already late, so what's another ten minutes." I said, and walked towards the ruins carefully.

I nodded. She was right. Either way we were late and going to be yelled at by both our instructor and our overbearing mother. I followed her up the cracked steps with caution. I was unsure if we should be here but at the same time, I didn't understand the risk. It didn't look like anyone but us was around. And what was the worst that could happen? We'd get in trouble for trespassing? I walked over to one of the broken walls. I had designs carved into it. Below the pillars was a small pouch made of leather and skins. It looked fairly new although the design was years old. "Look at this." I called to Ava.

I turned away from the ruined chair I was looking at to go to my sister. "What is it?" I asked, and saw she was holding a pouch. "Wow, it's so..." "Hey! What are you doing here?" A voice called. Iriva and I looked up. "You're...a mouse?" I asked, looking at it, a look of pure confusion on my face.

I stared at the little mouse in front of us. He was cute. Very cute. But...he talked. That didn't make sense. In fact, it made me want to scream. "What are you doin' here? You're not 'upposed to be here." He said, pointing a tiny, clawed finger at us. I stared at him with wide eyes as he pronounced full sentences. "You're...a mouse..." I repeated my sister's words. "Mice...can't talk!"

"Oh, you're clever, aren't you?" The mouse said. "You're so cute!" I exclaimed, reaching my hand out to pet him. He drew a sword, and I pulled my hand back quickly. Now, at this moment, I was a little scared. "I'll accept chivalrous, but never cute! Ya hear?" The mouse asked, and swung his sword in the air towards me.

I pulled Ava back behind me, wanting to protect her somehow. "Look, I think we're lost and...apparently a little mad." We were talking to a mouse for heaven's sake. How could we not be completely deranged? "Can you just tell us where we are?"

The mouse looked at us. "You don't know?" He asked. I sighed. "If we knew that, we wouldn't be asking you." I replied, a little harsh. "No need to be rude, girl." The mouse snapped. I tried to go to it to hurt it for the way it talked to me, but Iriva grabbed my arm. "You...are in Narnia!" The mouse said.

"Narnia? What is Narnia?" I asked, confused out of my mind. "I've never heard of such a place." "Well, you're in it. Now, if you'll excuse me..." He scurried off in the opposite direction until we could no longer see him. "Are we imagining things?" I asked Ava.

I shook my head. "I don't know." I watched the mouse scurry away. "Where do you think he's going? Should we we follow him?"

Just as she said that, he came back with others following him. Three men and two women. I looked at them curiously. They were dressed as if they were kings or knights. It was so odd. "Here they are, sires." The mouse said, pointing in our direction. A chill ran down my spine.
