I chewed on my lip as they walked away and sighed before turning to glare at Sonia. "Oh yes, your meeting." I rolled my eyes and stood up. "Come on, let's go to the common room. Maybe I'll get some homework tonight since I'll be all alone." I teased as we walked.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "I'm sorry, but I really want to snog him tonight!" I said with a smirk. "And, uhm, about homework... could you help me out with my muggle studies paper? I don't know why muggles need to use cars and I really don't care. I promise I'll be back from my meeting before midnight." I said. I had gotten pretty good at sneaking in and out of the castle just from the times I snuck out with Augustus.

"Ugghhh...I don't want to hear these things!" I exclaimed, clasping my hands over my ears teasingly. "Yeah, sure. You can look off of mine for help." I said as we walked into the common room. I went straight up to our dorm room and threw myself onto my bed. "Sleep sounds good. You should just stay and get a good nights sleep for once." I said, smirking at her.

I smirked as I placed my bag on my bed before hopping up onto it. "Yeah, but snogging sounds better than sleep." I said, sticking my tongue out at her. "I'll sleep after I'm done with my homework. And if I'm not back by eleven I give you permission to send me a howler tomorrow. I really should get more sleep." I said, and pulled out the letter Augustus had sent me at breakfast. Even if he didn't tell me it was from him, I would have known. His handwriting wasn't the best; it wasn't as bad as some, and it was slightly illegible, but I had learned how to read it. I began reading the letter and felt my jaw drop. He...he asked me to the dance? "Oh sweet Merlin, are you serious?" I said aloud to myself. I didn't think he wanted to go... I looked at Leah nervously. Great, if she found out I was definitely going she would take anyone just to find out who I was with. "Uhm...I should probably go. Take this with me..." I said, folding it back up. We always used our initials when writing to each other, but I was worried she'd still figure it out.

I raised an eyebrow at her as she read the letter. "What?" I asked, refering to her outburst. I knew for sure that letter was from the guy and wondered what he had said or asked to get that reaction out of her. She got up to leave then and I furrowed my brow. Yup, I was definitely following her tonight.

I left without saying goodbye, hurrying out of the common room. I heard the clock chime eight times, and cursed under my breath. Great, that meant I was at least twenty minutes late... I wondered if he would even still be there. I knew my exit wasn't the best way to leave Leah, but I needed to explain things to Augustus. I wanted to go to the dance, but maybe I would have to tell her sooner than I wanted to... As I neared our tree, I saw Augustus still sitting there. He didn't look happy. "Babe, I am so sorry," I apologised, walking up to him. "I don't even have an excuse this time..."

I got up after a moment of waiting and walked downstairs. I had a feeling they were going to be at the lake so that was the first place I went. I looked around a while, it was a big lake after all, before I finally came across a pair talking. I couldn't make them out yet, but I knew it was them. I began walking closer until I could see there faces. I had to clasp a hand over my own mouth to silence the gasp. There he was. Augustus Rookwood. I never really liked the guy and I wouldn't have imagined he be the guy she was after. I glared at him as he smirked at Sonia and wrapped his arms around her. His hands were falling a little too low for my taste and...yup, they're on her ass. "It's alright. You're here now." He said, seductively. He leaned in and placed his nasty lips on hers and I stood up. "I really thought you had better taste, Sonia." I said, walking forward. Rookwood pulled away to scowl at me.

I smirked back at Augustus and kissed him back, running one hand through his hair as my other arm wrapped around his waist. I froze when I heard Leah's voice and felt Augustus pull away. I was afraid to open my eyes, hoping she would go away if I kept them closed. Realizing that was childish, I opened them and looked over at her. "You followed me?" I asked, shocked. I didn't think she actually would...

"Of course I followed you. You were being a troll about it and wouldn't tell me. I got impatient." I said, not taking my eyes off of Rookwood. I kept trying to figure out what she saw in him. But no, I just don't see it. I looked at Sonia. "You have some explaining to do."

I rubbed my eyes as I muttered "fuck." I looked up at Augustus and sighed. "I'm sorry, I really didn't think this would happen..." I said, and looked back at my cousin. "I told you already, Leah, I love him. Do I really have to explain myself to you?" I asked, and sighed. Great, now I wasn't ever going to hear the end of this... "There was a reason I never told you, I knew you would act this way."

"I just want the whole story now that I finally know who he is. And I won't start judging unless he gives me reason to." I said, although it was really hard not to think of him as an enormous prat. He made me cousin keep a secret from me for months. That wasn't a good way to start off. Plus my first impression of him will always be the image of his hands on Sonia's ass as he was snogging her. Not an appropriate way to meet the family.

I was about to talk when Augustus started to. I was kind of worried about what he would say, since as far as I knew, he didn't really like Leah too much. I was probably the only Gryffindor he could put up with. "I waited for her after Quidditch practice. She's hot, so I talked to her. We talked a bit, snogged a bit more, and I was thinking of shagging her behind the greenhouse. Want to know anything else, sweetheart?" He said, the 'sweetheart' sounding very sarcastic. I glared at him and sighed. "Pretty much that, but... look, you should be happy for me! He's my first boyfriend... Merlin, this meeting between you two should have started out better..."

I stared at Rookwood in shock as he finished talking. There was a light blush on my cheeks and I was hopeful that because of the dark lighting from only the moon they wouldn't be able to tell. "Well then. Alright." I said, finding myself at a loss for words. "I am happy for you. I was only mad because you kept me out of it." I turned back to Rookwood. "I don't care how happy you make her. If you even think about hurting her, I'll hex your bloody balls off, you got that." I said, pointing a menacing finger at him.

I frowned, seeing Leah's reaction. I would have to apologise to her when I went back to the dorms. She sounded so embarrassed, it made me want to hug her. "I was just scared you wouldn't approve..." I said quietly, looking down. Augustus laughed at Leah's statement. "Be careful what you say, could come back to haunt you." he said, smirking at her. "Now, are you going to stand there all night? I'd love to snog your cousin, but hey, you can join in if you'd like." He added. "Please stop, Augustus... she's my cousin..." I said quietly. I was so afraid to say something wrong that I hoped if I said it quiet enough he could pretend he didn't hear it.

My jaw dropped as he offered to let me join. I glared at him, obviously not impressed so far but he didn't seem to care. "It's fine, Sonia. I was just leaving. Don't get caught." I said and turned on my heel, walking away. I could hear him chuckling until I was a good distance away.
