I pushed the door open with a loud thud as it hit the wall. I walked back to my desk and sat down, looking for something to get her started. "May I ask why you are so afraid of me?" I asked, sounding uninterested.
-----------------------------
"Yeah, I know." I cringed. I knew my parents and his didn't get along very well. They were all purebloods and Slytherin but...they haven't liked eachother since Hogwarts. I never knew why. But I knew he was right. Of course, they didn't like that I was all buddy-buddy with my friendly werewolf teacher. But I didn't care. "What am I going to do? And...he doesn't even notice me!" I leaned forward and put my head in my hands.

The tone of his voice hurt me a little, but what did I expect? There was no way my fantasy could ever happen, anyway. "I'm not." I replied.
------------
"Don't worry about it. Your parents will need to get over it if anything were to come of this." I stopped and shrugged. "Although, I may have something to say about it, too, but we'll leave it at that."

I looked up at her, suddenly curious. "Then why always shy away? You're a girl and a Slytherin. Do you really think I'm going to snap at you at every movement?" I asked, shaking my head and going back to searching.
---------------------------------
"Really? And what do you have to say about it?" I asked, morbidly curious.

I gulped again, wishing I could avoid the question. "I'm not good with talking to people I...respect." I said, trying to look him in the eyes.
---------------
"Well, I don't really like him much, to be honest." I replied. "I'm afraid he would hurt you."

I looked at her curiously, wondering why she would respect me. I got up and handed her some extra work. "You're to write an essay on Toad intestines and the effects they have when mixed with Crab eyes and bat wings. Since you're here early....you may use your book." I said, being oddly generous.
-----------------
I chuckled again. "He'd have to have liked me in the first place." I said and looked him in the eye. "But thanks for your concern." My odd feelings towards Professor Lupin started to rise again. I tried to shake them away but those eyes bewitch me everytime. I knew he was much older than me and saw me only as...a neice maybe, but I couldn't help it. My smile widened as I looked at him.

I was taken back by Snape's...generosity. It didn't seem like him. "Thank you, professor." I said, and pulled my book from my bag. I sat at my desk and opened my book.
----------------
I smiled back at Melanie. "You are like a...daughter....to me. I must care for you!" I smiled. The word, 'daughter' was so hard to get out, and I couldn't place why. Maybe I could have...no, it wouldn't be right.

I sat back at my desk and started reading a letter from Lucius Malfoy. Apparently he wasn't too pleased with me for giving his precious son detention. Ah well, he'll live....or hopefully not. I glanced up at Rebecca. She worked quietly, glancing up at me every few minutes. I caught her eye every time and she would turn a little red then look away quickly.
---------------------------
I blushed and leaned into him again. I put my head on his shoulder between his neck and shoulder bone with a sigh. He would never feel the same about me and even if he did...nothing would ever happen. Maybe I should talk to Draco.

I cursed myself silently every time he saw me looking at him. I should be more careful about it, like, not looking at him when we're the only two in the room, but I'm not that smart. "I'm almost finished, professor. I'm sorry I came in so early." I said, barely audible. I was still embarrased from him catching me looking at him.
------------------
I hugged Melanie tighter. The wind had picked up a bit, and I didn't want her to be cold. "He'll just break your heart, Melanie. Stay away from him, for both our sakes." I said, adding a laugh in at the end, only she didn't seem happy in the least bit. "Go for someone more...mature, please."

I merely nodded, looking away. I looked back at the letter and silently cursed Draco's idiotic father. I was fairly sure that I would be seeing him personally rather soon. I saw her head come up and look at me as I cursed.
-------------------
A shiver ran down my spine as the wind blew. It felt nice on my face but my arms got goosebumps. "Someone more mature? Like who?" I asked with a chuckle. Finding a mature guy my age was useless. And anyone that was older wouldn't be interested in me. I was too young...

"Is...is something wrong?" I asked, hoping I wasn't overstepping my boundries. I thought how stupid it was, once again, that I liked him. Nothing would ever happen...
---------------- I laughed a bit. "I'm not quiet sure. I'm sure you'll know when you find him." I smiled at her, and she smiled back. "What do you say we go inside and talk?"

I sighed and stood. "Lucius Malfoy appears to have a problem with my punishing his son. I have a feeling I'll be getting a visit from him." I told her, surprising myself by talking about it.
--------------------
"I suppose. After you." I said, standing with a smile. I followed him inside and to his office.

"Oh." I didn't really know what to say. "I don't think you really need to worry about it. He wouldn't do anything, there's Azkaban to think of." I said, not realizing I was talking about a Malfoy. They probably didn't care.
------------
"So, other than the Draco Malfoy problem, how have you been?" I asked, sitting at my desk. I motioned her to sit down as well.

I scoffed. Like a Malfoy would ever care. He would easilly take care of a problem his own way. Lucius Malfoy wasn't much better. "I'm not afraid of him. Never will be." I said stubbornly.
-----------------
I chuckled. "It's been ok. Got detention today though..." I said, knowing he would be disappointed.

I laughed a bit. "I never thought you would be the type of person to be scared of anyone!" I said, and blushed a little. I had just realized I was having a conversation with Snape.
-------------
"Melanie," I said crossly, "for what?" I stared at her, acting more like a father than a good friend. "By who?"

I almost laughed but stopped myself. I shook my head and sat back at my desk. "Get back to work, Miss. Abbey." I said rudely in my normal tone.
-------------------
I laughed again. "By Snape for..." I took a deep breath and practiced my best Snape impersonation. "Disrupting the class and lying." I sighed and shook my head. "Draco threw stuff in Harry's hair..." I took a moment to laugh at the homophone. "Then when Harry started making a scene, Snape tried to blame him for the disruption but...I jumped up and said it was me to help Harry and....end up getting me, Draco, Harry, AND Rebecca in detention with our dear Professor Snape."
